I approached Llewie of Crystal Wood Carpentry with a view to totally re-landscaping our existing garden. He was very helpful right from the initial meeting with suggestions of how we could proceed and came up with a rough design which, with input from myself, he amended slightly as the project went on.

Llewie was very conscientious in producing a good balance of ideas that worked both practically and aesthetically. For example we initially wanted a straight line of sleepers between the lower patio and the lawn area, but Llewie suggested a slightly different layout and, although I was initially sceptical, after seeing a rough layout I agreed to go with it. Now that it is finished, I have to agree it does look great.

The project itself was fairly challenging with limited access and space to work in but Llewie planned the materials and plant hire in advance so that we made best use of the space available.

During the project an issue with drainage arose (this had not been done properly when the house was built) and Llewie was very thorough in ensuring that a solution was found to remedy this to prevent any further issues going forward.

Llewie's work was of an exceptionally high standard and he was very thorough throughout. He was more than happy to answer my questions.
The finished garden looks superb and the reclaimed railway sleepers that were used for steps and a bench that have been stripped back and oiled look fantastic.

I would definitely recommend Crystal Wood Carpentry if you are looking for someone to landscape your garden to a high standard.

Crystal Woods did a fine quality job replacing and/or renovating some aged hardwood windows on our 400 year old cottage. The work was completed in an amiable and professional manner in time according to our programme.

We wanted our Chapel entrance doors restored, which were is a sorry state of repair. These door are made from solid oak and very large as they serve the Chapel which is located within the grounds of Torbay Hospital.

Crystal Wood Carpentry came highly recommended as they had carried out previous works for the hospital.
I can fully appreciate and understand why they come highly recommended, as the level of workmanship reflects true craftsmanship, and the attention to detail is first class.

The work was more involved than first thought and the whole of the door framework and doors frames needed to be replaced, including Ironmongery (Only original panels remained). This was carried out professionally and to a high standard, and the final finish and appearance was a fantastic match.

They carried out this work in a high pressure environment having to work around patients and staff whilst retaining a safe site. Due to the standard of work undertaken, I had no hesitation on using them again, where they made and installed wall panelling and details to the hospital’s boardroom. I have had board member comment on how well the new panels blend with the existing ones (which are over 90 year`s old). These guys produce quality work and I recommend them without hesitation.

I have known Llewie for many yearsand seen a number of projects he has undertaken.

His work is always carried out to a very high standard. He built a tree house in my orchard in a large eucalyptus tree which took a great deal of skill to design and construct around the existing branches. It was difficult working in such confined conditions. The result was a strong, safe, roomy tree house blending in with the surrounding environment. The work of Crystalwoods is always carried out in a professional way with great attention to detail.

Llewie from Crytstal Woods re designed my Kitchen. This included replacing my kitchen floor joists and laying French oak floor boards, replacing my kitchen cabinets, making bespoke elm worktops and shelf, a elm larder door and replacing kitchen ceramic tiles with slate tiles.

Llewie kept within an agreed budget and regularly kept me informed of the project progress. Llewie also project managed a plumber that was required as part of the project.

Crystal Woods designed and built a replacement platform and steps from the street level down into the courtyard of our Topsham property. This was a tricky job- and Llewie worked extremely hard to build the best he could within a difficult space. He particularly looked at damp and drainage issues and came up with some great solutions. He worked long hours and maintained a reasonably good budget and we are delighted with the results.
